Today is an exciting day. We welcome four guests from the U.S. in our first official delegation from Pennsylvania! They will be in Cameroon for the next 10 days, spending time with our management team, coaches and youth in Kumba, meeting partners in Buea, and relaxing at the beach in Limbe before heading back next week.
We’ll sleep in Douala tonight before the 3.5-hour journey to K-town tomorrow to meet with the management team and our Cameroonian Board of Directors and Board of Commissioners. We’ve got a special welcome ceremony planning tomorrow evening with a menu including roasted fish, fried plantains, and some other Cameroonian delicacies.
The itinerary looks like this:
7/20 – Travel to Kumba and meet the team
7/21 – Workshops in CameroonFDP office and dinner at staff homes
7/22 – Trip to Barombi village
7/23 – Youth football festival
7/24 – Kick off to Kumba City Council’s Inter-quarter Competition (CameroonFDP has registered a team that will feature some of our guests!)
7/25 – Workshops in CameroonFDP office
7/26 – Retreat and sight-seeing in beach town in Limbe
7/27 – Friendly football match against Arcadia Shepherds women’s team
7/28 – Farewells and final adventures
We hope this will be the first of many trips of this kind. Stay tuned for more information about another trip later this year and of course, Summer 2017!
