During the Third Annual International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP), many schools raised awareness around CameroonFDP and the use of sport for development.  The Providence Heights Alpha School in Allison Park, Pennsylvania celebrated by having a Sports Jersey Day, in which students and staff got to wear their favorite sports jerseys. They also collected equipment through a donation drive. They raised over $250 and collected many jerseys, soccer balls, and cleats for our players in Cameroon. The school even held an assembly on Monday, April 11th to talk about Cameroon and raise global awareness.
Jefferson Middle School in Mount Lebanon also held an equipment collection drive. The students even sorted and packed the equipment themselves! They were able to learn valuable lessons such as social responsibility and entrepreneurial skills.
A special thank you to the students and staff of the Alpha School and Jefferson Middle School. Their hard work and dedication has raised awareness around IDSDP and the use of sport for development!
