College Program

In 2022, Open Field partnered with Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) to form a club soccer team to attract, retain, and support young adults from immigrant and refugee communities in Allegheny County to obtain their associate degree and transition into the job market or continue to earn their bachelor’s degree.

The Approach

The soccer team provides a level of accountability and community that is essential for the success of any student, especially foreign-born and first-generation college students.

Open Field Staff, Coaches, and Players support each other on and off the field.

Career Readiness

Students explore the doors an Associates degree will open.

Academic Tutoring

Study halls and other college resources help students succeed academically.

Community Involvement

Athletes serve as mentors to the younger generation of Open Field.
