On June 16 Cameroon Football Development Program and Coaches Across Continents (CAC) teamed up once again to put on a coaching clinic for locals who wished to become coaches for local youth teams. In addition to teaching soccer skills and drills that the coaches could use in training sessions, CFDP and CAC also put a heavy focus on leadership, health and wellness, and gender equality training.
Through various drills CAC attempted to educate its trainees on HIV protection, and making correct life decisions when faced with obstacles. These are all important skills and almost more important than the soccer skills the coaches-to-be were taught. It is imperative that these coaches can impart the knowledge they are taught on the youth teams they coach once CFDP and CAC leave.
In the end more than ten coaches were trained and given certificates of completion!
