Matches over the weekend between Lakers and St Peter pulled crowds in kumba especially the youths who are on holidays.
It was a hot sunny Friday, the 10th of April 2015,that the long awaited match, of the CFDP U14 Tournament between Lakers V st peters ,took place at the GPS field. The field was jam parked with supporters of the two clubs. The match began at 2:45pm with pre-match activities, the two clubs rehearsed their warm up exercises, and the two captains read the match theme for the day. At exactly 3pm the referee kick-started the match. Barely thirty seconds into the game, Lakers opened scores through player wearing shirt number thirteen.St peters attacked line mounted series of offensives at the Lakers half until the equalizing goal for st peters came in at the 13th minute through shirt number 12.The two teams trilled the crowd with spectacular football until the referee blew his whistle marking the end of the first half of the game. After fifteen minutes of rest the second half commenced with Lakers struggling to give the curtain raiser, but with difficulties from st.peters compact defense line. St Peter had a counter attack opportunity and shirt number 12, wasted no time going in for a double that gave the curtain raiser for st. peter.
