UD
The University of Dayton (UD) is holding a Kickin’ It For Cameroon Soccer Tournament this Sunday, April 17th, at the University of Dayton’s Stuart Field. Thirty one students from UD’s “Sports in a Global Community” class have been working on this event, meeting each Thursday to plan the tournament. The class first broke down into different teams to plan the different parts of the event. They have a Fundraising/Sponsorship team, Digital Marketing team, Analog Marketing team, Operations team, Campus Recruitment team, and an International Recruitment Team. Each team has an assigned leader and they are in charge of the 6 students in their teams. The professor of the class has also helped in planning of the event.
They expect 12 teams to play, and their Fundraising/Sponsorship team has received donations from about 7 different restaurants and other companies in the Dayton area. They also received donations from and are in contact with local soccer clubs such as the Dayton Dynamo, Dayton Flyers Soccer, and Columbus Crew. The group plans on raffling these donations off in gift baskets. Additionally, they have a Crowdrise page, in which they are raising donations.

Thank you to these dedicated UD students for all their hard work! And make sure you check out their Twitter page to keep up with all of the action!
